1916 Model T Ford Speedster
The 1916 Speedster is a classic example of the versatility synonomous with the Model T. Speedsters are a unique breed of vehicle; simply put: a Speedster was built by first stripping down a Model T Touring Car or Roadster as close to the basic chassis as was possible and then customizing it to the owner's fancy.
The Speedster now in Boothbay, named "Daisy Mae" after the current owner's family pet, sports a rare monocle windshield and an oval gas tank . The vehicle is powered by a traditional 1916 power train with no changes or alterations for speed.
Speedsters were but one "spin-off" of the Model T, others included: pulling plows or being transformed into snowmobiles (with the necessary kit, of course!).
