On Sunday June 16, the Boothbay Railway Village salutes Father’s Day with free admission and train rides to all fathers when accompanied by their child.  Fathers, Grandfathers, and Great Grandfathers of all ages will be able to enjoy the museum exhibits and related their experiences to their children and grandchildren.

Steam train rides on the two-foot gauge railroad and Model T rides in an antique car are planned. Visitors can view the Model Railroad exhibit that will be open especially for Father’s Day. Come by and see the trains running on the constantly improving layout under construction.

Walk through the Village, which has buildings dating from the 1840’s, and enjoy the antique, classic and vintage automobiles that comprise the museum’s exceptional exhibit. Included in the over 50 vehicles on exhibit is the recent addition of a 1939 Packard Model 1700. This beautifully restored car sports a 100 horse power in-line six cylinder engine, and a price tag of just under $1,000.  The average annual wage in that year was $1,850.
